Special Recognition Subcontractor

Pacific Building Group named Ickler Electric a Special Recognition Subcontractor on this project, and had the following to say in their Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. Excellence in Construction Award presentation:

“Ickler Electric Corporation was a key member of the design and construction team for the SRS Sorrento Mesa medical office building project. Early in pre-construction and design, they proposed value engineering ideas and enhancements to the project design and delivery that helped provide options for the owner and streamlined the schedule.

Ickler handled all of the electrical coordination required for the Data Center work and the purchase of the new 1000 KW generator. They completed all the permit submissions for generator along with the inspections and commissioning required. Ickler was also a critical participant for other enhancement work, such as the lighting upgrades and special lighting required for the custom artwork installed by the team.

Ickler helped reduce the cost of the project by being proactive during design in implementing design specifications and completing work in the field within the owners project requirements, but not to higher level specifications, such as those used for OSHPD work. In many cases, this involved being specific about how rooms and areas were circuited. Alternate lighting and material packages were proposed and negotiated with vendors in order to gain the best value for the project.

Ickler Electrical Corporations management personnel were proactive in coordinating with all trades and were the only subcontractor that had supervision onsite for the entire duration of the project. They were quick to react to action items and completed installations with a high level of quality. Owners training and commissioning was completed for the both the MOB and Data Center with the highest level of professionalism. Overall, this project would not have been as successful without their
